If the Swiss brand TAG Heuer has a standout collection, many would think that it would be the Formula 1 series. Besides being the first to be released under the TAG Heuer that we know today, the timepieces have cemented the company’s reputation for excellence and accessibility. Since the 1980s, the watches under the F1 collection have come to symbolize the Swiss brand’s commitment to prizing the unmatched quality of Swiss watchmaking in terms of precision and design but without burning your funds.

The collection takes both its name and inspiration from the McLaren Formula 1, hence the sporty appearance of the watches. But TAG Heuer takes it beyond aesthetics by lending the F1 watches with the capacity to withstand elements that would take down lesser watches. In the case of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 WAZ1110.FT8023, this strength is not immediately obvious with the casual design. But the watchmaker promises a bold, durable and affordable watch that can be counted on even with a fast-paced life.

Pros
The TAG Heuer F1 WAZ1110.FT8023 remains true to the spirit of the Formula 1—the watch is sporty, with an appearance that can be likened to a race driver’s dashboard. It is worth noting though that the watch does not border on extremely athletic, the brand still practicing restraint on the dial’s details. The main attraction poses little to no problems in terms of legibility as the indices and the hands provide good contrast against the black background. If you ever find yourself in a room that is not well-lit, the luminous indicators would still deliver in telling time. All watches require maintaining, but if you’re the type to easily scratch yours, the F1 is especially ideal for its scratch-resistant glass. The 200-meter water resistance is also handy as the watch can be worn even during water sports.
Cons
The TAG Heuer F1 is great for many occasions, but it is still limited as you would probably have to find another watch if you are set to attend a fancy event; the rubber strap is better suited for off-duty days. Moreover, this is not the watch to go for if you want to stand out. The appearance is not that different from other F1 watches.
