TAG Heuer Link Men Calibre 5 Watch Review
Description
TAG Heuer did great in upgrading a model that many loved for so long, by adding a reliable movement into it, improving the look, the legibility, and other small details. Even after 30 years, with quite a new look, the watch still captivates in a way that a TAG Heuer Link can, making it one of our favorites for watches of the same price range.

One quality or feature can blow up a timepiece’s popularity off the charts—an example of this is the “Link”, a watch known for its sleek-looking double S-shaped links. TAG Heuer didn’t envision that the bracelet would be the defining characteristic of the watch, as it was originally released as “the S/el,” which was adopted from the term “Sports Elegance.” But the distinct link of the timepiece has propelled the fame of the watch, prompting TAG Heuer to change its name when it was revamped 12 years later. From then on, The Link became a household name for the label, even passing through the 30th year mark and re-introduced as one of the most stunning-looking timepiece nowadays.

Release Date: 1987 (re-released in 2017)
Retail Price: US$3,300.00

The recent update TAG Heuer made in the Link piece evolved the timepiece’s form, a more aggressive and distinct form, yet the essence of the original Link design is still incorporated in it. The re-release of the men’s version of the watch followed the women’s version which was launched in 2016, gaining more attention with its dashing look at a quite high price point.

Pros

The great value that comes with the new TAG Heuer Link timepiece is the Calibre 5 that the label equip the piece with. Aside from that, the aesthetic finish and details on the piece have a high-end quality to them, often seen in more expensive watches than the Calibre 5 Link. With that alone, this watch proves to be a good catch, of course added to the beauty of the familiar S-shaped links that feel smooth and comfortable around the wrist. Customers are provided with these color options for the dial: Black, silver and blue sunray.

Cons

Because of a major revamp in the recent Calibre 5 Link, fans of the original Link watch may find the size and feel of the watch  little off that they are used to. But that issue can be easily outgrown, especially as the watch feels more comfortable after many uses. Another problem that people have with this timepiece is its price, especially when a lot of other alternatives in the same category can be found in the market.
