Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough enjoyed a bit of a moment when they were showing in Paris. Their signature of a futuristic approach to ladylike silhouettes jived well in the city that brought the world haute couture and its many traditions. But now that they’ve brought back their brand in New York for spring 2019, it was also time to harken back to their contemporary roots and present a ‘less couture, more cool’ collection that women have always adored them for. This led to a vast array of sophisticated looks made out of industrial fabrics. it was clear from the tailored denim and the canvas suiting that Paris had a massive influence on them, but the ease and comfort of the materialization brought were definitely for the women who worked day-to-night. Working women of any age can now heave a sigh of relief as Proenza Schouler was back where they belong and were in their element.
