Along the lines of quirky maximalist and Instagram-obsessed streetwear, Alessandro Dell’Acqua managed to trot out a collection for No. 21 that was essentially and intrinsically sophisticated for Spring 2019. This was for the woman who rarely followed what was cool, but merely picked out clothes that looked beautiful and beguiling. At times, such pieces slight towed around the biggest trends today, such as the oversized parkas and tailored outerwear in silky satin or the mesh-like net pieces worn over fitted separates and cocktail dresses, all of which were attuned to the current streetwear aesthetic that’s all over social media. The faux ostrich feathers, on the other hand, harkened to the vintage maximalist style dominating runways today, from Gucci to Moschino, and everything in between. The color palette on this show was also exceptionally noteworthy, and all the hues used, from the neutrals to the exploration of pinks and greens, made for a show-stopping visual feast. This was the type of fashion that all girls would appreciate, and they most likely will once they hit the stores next spring!
