Creating an eyeshadow palette with a good, unique variety of shades and a logical color story—especially a neutral-themed palette—can be challenging. After all, there are so many neutral palettes out in the world now. NARS Cosmetics’ Skin Deep Eye Palette struggles to justify its existence as another neutral palette in the market. It’s not a bad palette by any means. It does contain a nice set of neutral colors in both matte and shimmer finishes, but it offers nothing particularly groundbreaking in the neutral eyeshadow palette department. There’s not really much there to justify the purchase of this product if you already have other neutral palettes, especially because of its $52 price tag. But otherwise, if you don’t already have a neutral palette, this may be a good item to snatch up.

While probably best known for holy grail products such as the Orgasm Blush and the Radiant Creamy Concealer, NARS Cosmetics has created some pretty fantastic products over the years. While the Skin Deep Eye Palette doesn’t necessarily rise to the top of that pile, if you don’t have any other neutral palettes yet, it’s worth a shot.
