If Izzue‘s latest show made you think we were back in the early 2000s, don’t worry! You’re not alone! Though they touched on several of today’s hottest sportswear trends, we couldn’t help but feel that their Fall 2019 collection looked so dated. The black-and-white stripes, the military-esque outerwear, the neon-colored hoodies—practically everything screamed 2006! Even if they were attempting to take hold of today’s biggest tropes, they failed at evoking that modern feel. What we did like, however, was the touch of upscale sophistication they brought in. Tailored coats, structured maxi skirts, and classic trenches felt classic and fresh. And without the gimmicky grunge approach, they would have stood out more and made to look more desirable than ultimately realized. But alas, the tacky elements dominated over them, which was for us, vastly disappointing!
