When one thinks of the house of Emilio Pucci, sportswear barely comes to mind. But this is what’s new with the brand’s latest Pre-Fall 2019 Collection, and what might be what will attract a new consumer audience to the decades-old label. The electric offering had touches of athleisure, especially with the stretchy knits in ice cream shades of purple and icy blue. An asymmetric top, which came in both bright yellow and in a 60s-inspired print, calls to mind the modern sportswear tops that women wear when they work out. But here, they were given a more sophisticated and cocktail dress approach. And considering this is a Pucci collection, one should expect a flurry of out-of-this-world prints, of which were splattered all over billowy dresses and monochrome pantsuits. In essence, this was a chic and fearless offering that will look lovely on the chic and fearless women of today.
