Dressing up an entire family is quite a challenge, and no less than Riccardo Tisci is up for the task. Continuing his ‘generational inclusivity’ from Spring 2019, the Italian designer’s Pre-Fall 2019 Collection for Burberry is all about timeless pieces anyone at any age can wear. The more tailored ones can give the youth a more refined edge, while the more streetwear-friendly items, on the other hand, allows those of a certain age to evoke nonchalant youthfulness. The streetwear elements are more evident in the menswear, what with the logo t-shirts, slightly oversized outerwear, and a few button-ups in the house’s famous check pattern. Some tailored suits exemplify Tisci noteworthy construction skills, both for men and women. And speaking of women, they get more of bourgeoise element out of this whole offering. Even the numbers that are obviously for the younger kids, such as semi-sheer lace frocks and the slim-cut separates, look more refined and ladylike than what most are used to seeing from Tisci. With this second collection, it’s clear that Riccardo Tisci has lots of plans for his tenure at Burberry!
