The category is… Vintage Extravaganza! With Christopher John Rogers‘s newest collection, you’d think we were in a ball in FX’s Pose! Such was the glamour and the energy that his Fall 2019 line conjured up. From the sherbet-shaded suiting to the frills for thrills in most of the show-stopping pieces, there was a lot to absorb here. Though most of the looks seemed fit for the evening, we’d be glad to see some of them making an appearance on the street during the day. I’ll take some audacity, but women who’ll wear the peach pink feather-trimmed fur stole, or the beautifully pleated lilac button-down dress, or the little black dress with a face painted on the front would look exceptional! As will those fearless females choosing to don the yellow ruffled evening gown or the hot pink metallic crushed suit to an elegant gala or other evening affairs. Fashion is all about taking risks, and while this is one of the biggest of the season, we commend Rogers for having the courage to do it!
