It was as classic as one can get at Belstaff’s Fall 2019 Menswear presentation. Creative director Sean Lehnhardt-Moore chose to work on signature staples and styles this season, leading to an overhaul of classic British sportswear pieces that have been the fashion vocabulary for decades now. But what he lacked in creative design he made up for in quality. Say what you will about the trench coat and how overused it has been by several designers, but the team over at Belstaff sure knows how to cut a mean one with such utter refinement. Never has the wardrobe staple looked so fitted and well-tailored in recent memory than it did on the male model in the brand’s seasonal lookbook. Even the sportswear here had a sophistication to them, such as the white hooded puffer jacket that presented a flattering silhouette. Still, it wouldn’t hurt Lehnhardt-Moor to go outside of the box in his next collection. Just because Belstaff is a staple brand doesn’t mean their clothes always have to be!
