Joseph is still in limbo-mode as newly-appointed creative director Susana Clayton is yet to officially debut (her first collection will be Spring 2020). But despite this transitory period, the design team behind the brand was still able to come up with a straightforward and sophisticated menswear offering for Fall 2019. Reliability was the name of the game as the label ventured solely on the classics and traditional codes of refined masculinity. They were, however, mixed together with tinges of sportswear for a slightly contemporary edge. A precisely cut dark grey men’s jacket, for instance, was paired with a black-and-white turtleneck tracksuit. This was a recurring ensemble in different colors—whether a black double-breasted blazer over a white-hooded tracksuit or a monochrome gray set with a structured long coat. This clash of new and old attitudes are bound to pique the interest of men every age, those who are in pursuit of youth and those who just want quality clothing that’s easy and well-made. Although these aren’t the show-stopping items that make it into the editorials in the magazines, these are still reliable and stylish clothes for the everyday man.
