September 2022 Sales (LATEST)

The world of streetwear seems to be in a frenzy today. So many people are expecting more and more from streetwear brands that such designers are taking new approaches to navigating the market. Take Ben Taverniti of Unravel, for example, who showed his Pre-Fall 2019 Womenswear Collection at the same time he presented his Fall 2019 Menswear Collection. Like other designers combining both sexes into one runway or presentation, there was a singular narrative to his latest offering: a return to form and elegance. It’s more evident with the women’s looks, which are far more structured and sophisticated than the men’s. Although both are equally fascinating with how the silhouettes play with the human body, the body-conscious ensembles some of the women wore were unique in their tightening shapes. Two seamless long-sleeved dresses, in blush pink and highlighter blue, were particular stand-outs in terms of how the garments were expertly constructed as well as how they embrace the female form. Color was also a huge focal point for this collection, gathering both subtle and vivid shades to create a grunge-like palette similar to that of Marc Jacobs decades ago. No doubt anyone seen wearing these will look cool, but with Taverniti’s newfound refinement, can the Unravel customer be more upscale than it is now?
