Pleasant isn’t often used in fashion, but there’s no other word that best describes Andrew Gn’s Pre-Fall 2019 Collection. He himself named the line “Tiramisu,” not because he was inspired by the dessert, but because similarly to it, the clothes are to bring joy and happiness to the clients. And what would they be joyful about this season? For one thing, Gn upped the ante on the tailoring, offering such sleek and sophisticated pantsuits in the most delicious sherbet shades of lilac, lemon yellow, and cherry red. Some of the outerwear, particularly the coats, even exhibited a slightly mod 1960s feel—a n undeniably chic edge. The floral prints were also extremely pleasant, having been inspired by the fabrics Gn’s father used to give the designer’s mother, who then had them turned into clothes. They too had a vintage feel that was nostalgic but not dated. And for the evening, a flurry of feather-trimmed cocktail looks, both with pants and dresses, that was a delightful foray into something a bit more fabulous. Glamour certainly was a huge influence on this collection, as well the main attraction that will draw several women to buy this come fall!
