September 2022 Sales (LATEST)
Emerging London-based designer Rejina Pyo proved, with her Spring 2019 offering, that she understands the complexities of her sex. In her show this season, which was relatively opened to the public courtesy of a glass venue, shows how women dress differently depending on their mood. She’s not one to follow in many veterans’ routes, such as the minimalism played out by Phoebe Philo’s Celine or the sportswear movement initiated by Stella McCartney. Rejina Pyo chooses not to have a particular niche, but rather cater to the different tastes of women. One day, her client might want to dress demurely in a daisy-yellow shirt and a draped softly ginger-colored satin skirt. Other days, she may be feeling frisky in a semi-sheer neon lime turtle-neck with a fringed polka-dotted skirt. Let’s not forget that this woman needs some business-ready outfits for work, which comes here in monochromatic pantsuits in pastel blue and soft tan. Despite such diverse ensembles, Rejina Pyo is designing for one woman, a truly modern and eclectic one at that.
