BH Cosmetics has become a force to be reckoned with in the drugstore makeup scene because their products just offer so much value for the money you’re investing. This is decidedly the case for the Studio Pro Shade & Define Contour Palette which, right when we opened it, immediately impressed us.
There’s a lot to love about this palette even beyond how affordable it. Right as we uncovered the surface of this palette, there was a bit of surprise on our end, to be honest. Ten shades in a contouring palette for less than $15? It had to be an impossibility, and yet, there was the evidence right in front of us. This was, and still is, a palette that’s not to be underestimated. The fact that it has so many wearable shades just adds to the versatility and customizability potential of this product.
So, we thought, perhaps the brand was making up for a lack of performance by providing plenty of colors to work with. We were proven wrong yet again. The colors in this palette are very easy to work with, all nice and definitely very buildable. The same can be said for the short and long-time wear of this product. Immediately after applying, the colors in this contour palette dry down to a nice, luminous matte that blends into the texture of the skin effortlessly. Because these creams also have a bit of mattification with them, the wear time on these is also improved significantly.
Perhaps our only real piece of criticism about this product is its packaging. Being a drugstore product, we weren’t really expecting this product to look like a much more expensive product, but we didn’t think it’d feel so cheap either. The plastic packaging just feels a little bit flimsy to us, and it’s not as travel-friendly as a more durable but lightweight case.
This is one product where being proven wrong was actually… a lot more satisfying than it might seem. We’re happy our pre-judgments around this product dissipated once we finally got to try it on.
SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
