Too Faced Cocoa Contouring and Highlighting Palette Review

Too Faced Cocoa Contouring and Highlighting Palette Review
Product Description
In general, we recommend you avoid the Too Faced Cocoa Contouring and Highlighting Palette like the plague. While it’s visually adorable and it smells nice to boot, everything about the product is just ineffective and wasteful. From bad shade selection, to awful pigmentation, to borderline unblendable formula, to weak lasting powder, you’d be better off buying those kids’ toy makeup kits—those are cheaper, and they may even work better.

Cute packaging
Pleasant cocoa fragrance
Darker contour shades do not look good at all
Shades are barely pigmented
Formula is tough to blend
Awful wear time

In its entire history, Too Faced may have just put out one of its most ineffective, downright worst products in the Cocoa Contour Palette.

There are a few positive things one can say about this otherwise wasteful product. First, the packaging, with its chocolate bar-based visual motif, does look pretty adorable. And the cocoa-esque fragrance is present in just the right amount to be pleasant but not overwhelming.

Now those are out of the way, let’s talk about the actual product at hand. In terms of shade selection, even without swatching the products from the pan, one can tell that the darker contour shades (both the Medium and the Deep) are all wrong for the skin tones they’re purported to be used on. And then you actually swatch it, and you realize that the product isn’t even particularly pigmented. On top of that, the formula, if you even get it to show up, is so difficult to blend that you’re forced to drag and pull. All these and an awful wear time make the existence of this contouring palette questionable at best.

At the end of the day, of course, you’re free to use whatever makeup products you choose—except this one. We firmly believe this is a waste of product and money. Avoid this product like the plague because it’s just not worth it.

SUITABLE FOR: All skin types.
