Despite his signature style of hyper-femininity, Alexis Mabille has often also explored the duality between femininity and masculinity. In his spring 2019 collection, the French couturier divulged the two into inseparable aesthetics, balancing both an elegant disposition with an industrious quirk. This concept ultimately led to a series of breezy dresses that are stiffly collared up to the neck and rigid tailoring done in silk and blue gingham. Though this was far fro the glamorous haute couture gowns and dresses he puts forth every January and July, one could still see the undeniable Mabille touch on these every day pieces.
