‘Modern’ was printed on a scarf at the closing look of A-Cold-Wall‘s Fall 2019 Menswear show. It was a fitting logo description of what was yet another painstakingly contemporary offering from Samuel Ross. Much like his mentor, Virgil Abloh, Ross has become somewhat of a cult icon of the streetwear crowd. This was eagerly manifested by the hordes of teenagers who skipped school just to be able to watch his latest presentation. Arguably, their brazen decision to do so was worth it as inventive ideas reigned supreme on that runway. From the dramatic floor-sweeping plastic capes and coats to the cut-out jackets and tailored suits, there were so many things on offer this season. It combined the streetwear edge of the present with the old-school tailoring of the past and its resurgence for the future. In essence, the collection encapsulated what fahsion needs nowadays, making it one of the stand-outs!
