Fans of both motor crossing and horology find a common ground in Tissot. The Swiss watchmaker has established a relationship with the sport since the latter half of the 20th century and even became the MotoGP’s designated timekeeper in 2001. This fruitful partnership has given fans more collectibles in the form of wristwatches; Tissot has made a show of it by manufacturing racing-inspired watches since the beginning of the millennium.

The brand has collaborated with many sports organizations through the years but no one has made as much impact as the MotoGP, paving way for a collection that is probably Tissot’s sportiest and most masculine. Fans will easily identify the design directly lifted from the flashy motors: the dial that resembles the motor’s counters, the buttons of the chronograph which imitate footrest pushes, the straps that look like smaller tire treads as well as the lugs. Wearing the watch is a nifty little way to show off love for the sport.

Pros
Tissot’s 2018 release of the T-Race MotoGP retains the charm of previous versions: it is still very big, bold and masculine, which will certainly captivate fans of the sport. The black that dominates the watch is better looking in contrast to the gold and red touches. It is considerably cheaper compared to others; at a retail price of US$750, this is certainly more accessible than other quartz watches from Swiss luxury brands. Fear that you may find too many of your fellow fans wearing the watch? Tissot is limiting this release to 8,888 watches, lessening the chances of having a watch that is too common.
Cons
The watch is undoubtedly captivating, thanks to its choices in colors and bolder details. But the dial leaves the impression that there are too many things going on for it, which can affect legibility; it may take some time before one can get used to reading from the watch. In particular, the magnifier can get in the way of the chronograph seconds hand.
