Sublime craftsmanship is not lost, at least, not with Romance Was Born. The Australian-born fashion label is all about trotting out well-constructed and handmade garments, which is why they’re a perfect fit for Haute Couture week. But for their Pre-Fall 2019 Collection, they presented from their home-country Australia instead of going at it with the big-named Couture labels in Paris. And while this was a bit unorthodox for them, the exquisiteness of their clothes remained the same. This season was a bit more wearable, what with all the outerwear and uncomplicated silhouettes. A big black leather coat, for instance, would make for a very show-stopping statement piece, especially when paired with the lace dress with matching floral embellishments. Movement also seemed to be a starting point here as most of the eveningwear looks were frilled to perfection and had the right lightness so that they’d billowed when the wearer moved. The best look that can summarize this was perhaps the first look: a black fringe-hemmed caftan with sparkling floral embellishments. Whoever walks into a room wearing that is sure to draw all the attention on her!
