September 2022 Sales (LATEST)

Despite working for a minimalist brand, Luke and Lucie Meier have always had a different approach to the brand’s signature codes and the overall style altogether. Jil Sander has always been about clean and crisp minimalism—no fuss, just simple quality clothing for the everyday woman. What the Meiers have done, in their own unique way for Pre-Fall 2019, is to take this idea and slightly turn it on its head. In essence, their looks their season are minimal, with the stark absence of print and frills and strong streamlined silhouettes. But through new proportions and shapes, this type of minimalism is less discreet and more show-stopping. A camel coat, for instance, has a draped feature on the side that almost makes it seem like the wearer is wearing a cape. A very geometric vertical-striped coat, on the other hand, looks as if it was made out of a duvet. It’s their choices of material and their experimental cutting that the Meier’s achieved a whole new look for Jil Sander, one that both old and new customers are bound to appreciate.
