Gender fluidity is a concept Norma Kamali has touched upon before, but for Pre-Fall 2019, she took it up a notch. For one thing, these pieces will be labeled with dual-sizing info, making it easier for men to wear the women’s clothing and vice versa. A pioneer in athleisure, most of the gender-fluid clothes are the sportswear outfits—the likes of monochrome tracksuits and cocoon-shaped anoraks. Their colors, however, are probably what will attract both men and women to buy them. The use of vibrant neon hues on the sportswear is likely a new signature for Kamali, as are the graphic-printed denim. Although not necessarily sportswear, the clear plastic trenchcoats are sure to be hot items come fall as well. Luxury came in the caftans (also printed with street-style graphics), fringed jumpsuits, and shimmering swimwear paired with long skirts to make for sexy evening ensembles. These are the ones that are most worthy of people’s money and come fall, it’s won’t be a surprise to see them all sold out!
