A culmination of such is No. One’s “Charlie” sneakers in “Pink Pony.”

Apart from the usual fashion capitals of Paris, Milan, and New York, Los Angeles is also a city that takes great pride in their style and fashion. Home to Hollywood stars, the city is also a haven for high fashion luxury brands to release their newest items. No. One did just that with their “Pink Pony” Charlie sneakers, which the released last December 6, 2017. A limited edition piece, the shoes are priced at a hefty $575 per pair.

Pros

No. One’s “Pink Pony” Charlie sneakers take sneaker culture into a whole new level of design, to one where it’s tantamount to the haute couture in Paris. With exotic pink-dyed Italian pony hair, the sneakers feature a unique and highly-stylized texture that is as luxurious as any other piece from the most upscale of brands. Designed on a simple and comfortable cap-toe silhouette, the minimal shape combined with its unusual textile make for a balanced shoe.

Cons

In sneaker culture, the design wasn’t always that important. It was only recently when sportswear became the hottest thing in high fashion that aesthetics became vital to sneakers. With this mentality, the scope of No. One’s Charlie shoes in “Pink Pony” target consumer audience remains to be seen. While faithful No. One clientele will surely enjoy the innovative sneakers, the design and concept may not attract as many sneakerheads. The sneakers are certainly of an acquired taste, it’s just not sure how many people have that taste.
