Kate Spade New York has always been for the young cosmopolitans. Her look is polished enough for a chic day at work, but it’s not without its vivacious youthfulness. For Pre-Fall 2019, newly-appointed creative director Nicola Glass presented a confident and colorful collection that’s sure to pull at the heartstrings of many young and young-at-heart women in the workforce. Without losing the brand’s signature retro touch, each piece could easily look contemporary with the right styling and attitude. Take the bowed-up gingham bustier dress, for instance. The ensemble itself screams 1950, but pair it with a nice denim jacket and cool sneakers and it’ll say 2019 all the way. Dainty yet dangerous, women who wear these clothes understand that their femininities are their greatest weapons. Is the world ready for an army of Kate Spade New York-wearing girl-bosses? It looks like it!
