Hypnotic Poison by Dior Review
Hypnotic Poison is one of the strongest follow-ups in Dior’s Poison fragrances. Made mainly of oriental notes blended wonderfully with vanilla, it is a glamorous scent that will create a strong trail of sophistication, creamy sweetness and compliments. Due to its strength, it is best worn during colder seasons and chilly nights. Longevity is in proportion to its heaviness: it would not be easy to rub off the scent, with some even struggling to do so after taking a shower. Hypnotic Poison manages to be a scent women of most ages would enjoy despite the presence of gourmand.

Does not smell too sweet despite the gourmand
Excellent longevity and heavy sillage
Sexy and elegant scent to wear in the evenings
Too heavy for everyday wear

Hypnotic Poison, at least the eau de toilette, came to be in 1998. It followed Tendre Poison which was released four years earlier and is part of Poison series of perfumes by Dior. Annick Menardo created the scent as a reflection of John Galliano’s aesthetic, and incorporated jasmine, tuberose, Brazilian rosewood, rose, lily of the valley, caraway, almond, musk, sandalwood and vanilla into the fragrance. A stronger eau de parfum was released 16 years later, in 2014.
