The tailoring over at Fendi is almost bar to none. The good folks that work there know how to cut and construct a garment in such a sublime way that tailoring seems to always be the main focal point for a lot of the Italian house’s collection. This applies to their Pre-Fall 2019 collection as well, which was a hybrid of the label’s masculine and feminine codes. Luxurious doesn’t even begin to describe the majesty of this offering, which is a hybrid of expert tailoring and exquisite draping. Well-cut jackets and coats were layered over floaty and billowy dresses, pantsuits were on offer in the most daring of color combinations, and of course, it wouldn’t be a Fendi collection without some unique manipulations of fur. A memorable look was a leather pale turquoise coat crafted with white Sicilian lace. It was sexy yet sophisticated, classic yet confident—just the way modern women like their clothes today.
