Derek Lam 10 Crosby is offering a relaxed take on workwear for Pre-Fall 2019. Design director Shawn Reddy explained that he was inspired by an “after-holiday glow” that one evokes after coming home from a luxurious vacation. “The idea of coming back, taking that mindset, and incorporating it into your workwear wardrobe,” he said. What resulted was an array of exquisite yet easy tailoring, bursts of eye-popping colors, and a slight tinge of exoticism that’s still appropriate for everyday business. Pantsuits were arguably the stars of this offering, especially the monochrome tangerine suit offset by a bright lime green belt and a similar look made entirely out of navy blue denim paired with a bright orange purse. Simple yet show-stopping, these ensembles are sure to make an impact in any board meeting, letting everyone know who’s boss!
