Fashion is having a glamour-centric moment and even young designers are taking part in the fun. Just take a look at Christian Cowan Pre-Fall 2019 Collection—an unapologetic array of sequins, leather, feathers, and animal prints. But when you have clients such as Priyanka Chopra, Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, and more, what other direction is there to take? Cowan knows he’s become the go-to designer for over-the-top fabulosity, but for Pre-Fall 2019, he translated this signature aesthetic to a more wearable variation that can be worn beyond the red carpet. His silhouettes this season are simple, sleek and sexy, body-hugging enough to make an impact but slightly minimal compared to what he’s done before. The most noteworthy in this collection are the little black dresses—refined combinations of confident sexuality and youthful “joie de vivre.” And when you think this collection couldn’t get any better, this CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist used eco-friendly materials, such as vegan leather, to complete all these stellar looks. This factoid alone will have millennials saving up to buy the pieces! What more with all the glamour that’s poured into them?
