What do plastic, nylon, and mesh all have in common? They were all featured at A-Cold-Wall’s Spring 2019 fashion show. Creative director and LVMH prize finalist Samuel Ross flexed his creative muscles as he put forth an array of deconstructed menswear (and a few womenswear) down the runway. It was a convergence of classic menswear tropes with skeletal ideals of architecture, represented profusely by the translucent plastic jackets and the mesh that entangled the body. The icing on this cake, however, was that Ross’s old boss, Virgil Abloh, even sat on the front row to cheer his old protege on.
