Matière Noire by Louis Vuitton Review
Description
Despite its name, Matière Noire is not quite the dark Louis Vuitton scent we’ve come to expect. Like others in the collection it belongs to, the scent, for us, is easy to wear and like. The white florals are fresh and lovely, and the oud, no matter how faint, manages to give it the warmth it needs. This is not meant to offend, although we would have probably adored it even more if it came with a little more strength.

We would have wanted more out of it rather than it retreating as a skin scent

Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud allotted more than four years in the creation of a set of feminine fragrances for Louis Vuitton. One of the results is Matière Noire, which is described to be a scent of contrasting notes. Some of these include patchouli, cyclamen, jasmine, narcissus, blackcurrant and oud. Released in 2016, it was made available in 100 and 200 ml bottles designed by Marc Newson.
