Description
There are certain characteristics that make a piece a classic in the fashion and luxury retail businesses, and for Nike’s Air Max 90 Premium running shoes, it’s the comfort it brings the wearer. Although there are some parts of the feet that may have it slightly worse than others, there’s no denying that a shoe as complicatedly-designed and reinvented for more sophisticated looks is comfortable enough to last more than two decades in the fashion sphere and sneaker culture.

A classic will remain a classic no matter how much it’ll change through the years. In fashion, classic signatures are always reinvented, introducing the iconic piece to new generations of consumer audiences year after year. While at times, the new iterations may go completely beyond what the original looks like, the classic is still a foundation upon which new fashions emerge. Even in the sportswear market, classics are as important as ever, particularly Nike’s Air Max 90 shoe, which is now offered in premium renditions.

Release date: April 2009
Retail Prices: $120 (Normal price) $107.97 (Marked-down price)

The original Air Max 90 was initially called Air Max III and was said to be the second most important shoe in the brand’s prestigious range. The model first debuted in 1990, but in 2009, a year before its 20th anniversary, it was reissued in Premium iterations. Constructed with more luxurious and technologically-advanced materials, the running shoes became more of a fashionable statement piece than mere athletic footwear. Its normal retail price is $120, but it has since been marked down to $107.97.

Pros

For more than two decades, Nike’s Air Max 90 has been a significant model in the American retail giant’s collection, mainly because of its fit and comfort. Among Nike’s many iconic shoes, the Air Max 90 is said to be the most comfortable model and that it fits the feet like a glove. Even people who’ve worn the shoe for about 24 hours have noted that not once did the shoe ever become uneasy to the foot. With the Premium models, the running shoes are given stylish makeovers; offered in metallic uppers, snakeskin leather, and many more that adhere to high fashion standards than simply just sporty streetwear. Even though they’re a bit more sophisticated, the Air Max 90 Premium shoes are said to still be very comfortable to wear.

Cons

The Air Max 90 and its Premium versions are some of the most comfortable shoes to wear from Nike, but many customers have also confessed that the shoes are unpleasant to the bunions. There are versions of the iconic sneakers that are constructed too tight on the bunions area, leading to slight discomfort when wearing them for a long period of time. Another regular complaint regarding the Air Max 90 Premium is that its shoe-strings are shorter than usual. It’s a hassle for people to tie these shoes, especially when they’re on-the-go.
