September 2022 Sales (LATEST)
Luisa Beccaria vintage style and classic take on elegance are arguably better fitted for the colder seasons, as proven by her chic offering for Pre-Fall 2019. Here, she went headstrong with various nods to Victorian dressing, one of her stronger assets, and transforming them into a contemporary and seasonal collection of outerwear and dresses. The former, in particular, stands out with Beccaria’s play on silhouettes, such as the streamlined pale pink tweed number and the 60s-esque dove gray cocoon coat. It’s clear from these looks, as well as a number of slightly structured dresses, that Beccaria is an experienced tailor as she is an exquisite dressmaker. And speaking of dresses, they were the more classic-looking ones in this presentation. A turquoise velvet wrap-dress simply is likely to shimmer against the winter moonlight, while the shoulder cut-out chantilly lace wedding gown is perfect for an intimate autumn evening affair. It’s nice to see a designer stick to her guns when it comes to presenting elegant clothes in this day and age.
