Phantaci x New Balance 997.5 Review

Celebrating Taiwan-based Phantaci’s 10th anniversary in the business, Asian superstar Jay Chou’s fashion label collaborated with New Balance and released the Phantaci x New Balance 997.5 which delivers a lovely tri-color mix of black, white, and pink, with polka dot lace as a contrasting accent. Materials-wise, we think the suede upper delivers no fault, as well as the REV Lite tech white outsole. What irks us though is the mesh placed on the back heel which lowers the quality and aesthetic of these kicks. What do you think?

The Phantaci x New Balance 997.5 features a tri-color suede upper in black, white, and pink, built atop the EVA Lite tech rubber outsole in white. Stitching is visible enough to give it more character, but the mesh on the back heel is a low point. As a special edition released on Phantaci’s 10^thyear anniversary, these are still a nice pair of sneakers.
