Taking design cues from the colorful version of the $100 bill, the Concepts x New Balance 998 ‘C-Note’ features an interesting mix of colors and patterns that might be divisive among fans. For its upper, white suede covers the majority with hints of military green on the heel, white mesh textile on the toe box, and grey ones around the color. Curious details are the TPU inserts on the quarter mid panel and reflective silver hardware on the heel and collar. What puts us off though is the light-yellow part of the midsole that changes into white and blue on the front.

The Concepts x New Balance 998 ‘C-Note’ based its colorway on the 2013 version of the $100 bill. With a white upper in suede and mesh, complementary colors come through in grey, olive green, and cream. Quite interestingly, the foundation is made from rubber in slightly off-putting light yellow combined with white, and royal blue.
