LeBron James’ enigmatic style and charisma goes beyond his sports skills and into his fashion sense. He’s become one of the finest-dressed gentlemen in the world of sports, with his namesake sneakers being a strong focal point. One of his newest releases with the American sportswear giant, Nike, debuted on October 17, 2017. A few days before Halloween, the new model is aptly called “Ghost” and costs $185 a pair.
Pros
The name ‘Ghost’ may be just a gimmick, but it’s certainly the right name for this hauntingly-beautiful shoe. In an interesting cream-colorway, the shoe presents a different take on neutrals, which are common in sneaker culture. Its tan-hued tongue and heel tabs add a much-needed splash of color that adds the right amount of spice. The model’s enigmatic upper, made out of BattleKnit, is carved out in an alligator-skin-like fashion, giving the shoes a more textured look.
Cons
While the shoes’ upper creates fascination, their outsole injects confusion. In icy-blue and translucent, the outsoles don’t seem to fit the look of the entire shoe and looks to befit more a different colorway or even model altogether. Furthermore, maintenance looks to be a big issue with the pair. With a light-toned colorway and knitted material, the shoes are most likely subjected to a lot of dirt and stains, and they’ll be difficult to wash out. Certain textiles require intricate and unordinary methods of cleaning, and this shoe might require such as well.
