The fashion world is in a bit of a paradox recently. As many designers move back to traditional codes of sophisticated dressing and tailoring, there are still those few who opt to stay within the high fashion streetwear narrative. One of them is Kris Van Assche, whose first menswear collection for Berluti is all about luxurious sportswear done in a contemporary way. His new look for the brand is far more streamlined than that of his predecessor’s, Haider Ackermann, and comparatively more youthful as well. The luxury, however, was still all there, with the strict tailoring and high-quality leather cut into jackets, trousers, and even sneakers. If there’s one look that could easily define the new aesthetic Assche is laying out for the label, it’s got to be the red short-suit with bright fern green leather sneakers. Sophisticated yet rebellious, the look is the perfect hybrid of quality, technique, and streetwear that Berluti fans of any age will appreciate.
