Have you ever worn an outfit that just doesn’t seem right, as if something is missing? Then when you put on the right jewelries, and it all seems to magically work and come together? More than shiny metals that attract admirers and purveyors of artistic beauty, jewelries are made through a painstaking and meticulous process of imagination, creativity, and skilled expertise—from conception all the way to completion.

In today’s fast-paced, highly-connected world where we are exposed to the workings behind the materials we buy, it is easy to take for granted what we see on stores both online and offline. For instance, jewelries, for the untrained eye, can be considered as merely mass-produced trinkets created to be replaced as quickly as we change outfits every day. However, for some, jewelries mean more—they are expressions of love, relationships, connections, personality, and overall being.

A brand that perfected not only the art of jewelry making, but also the art of meaningful offerings that speak to the wearers and viewers, Paul Morelli (short for The Fine Jewelry House of Paul Morelli), continues to be revolutionary enough to warrant its decades’ worth of success and attention from across the world.

Inspired by theater, fashion, and arts

Jewelry Designer Paul Morelli
Jewelry Designer Paul Morelli

Founded by Paul Morelli, the brand officially came into existence in 1981, in what was previously the Philadelphia Theater District. As the son and heir apparent to his parents’ company that created and provided high-quality, handmade, and unique theater costumes, Paul was influenced by a background filled with cultural and artistic endeavors. Paul later on pursued his passion for fine jewels and metallurgy, and turned the company from designing theatrical costumes to creating intricate jewelries.

From customized orders to modernized creative classics, each Paul Morelli piece undergoes Paul’s eye for detail. To ensuring quality, the Morelli family handles and leads the production of every piece in Philadelphia, with all pieces required to reach a certain standard before they become certified with the brand name.

More than just aesthetic

Paul Morelli Jewelry

All Paul Morelli jewelries follow the same, elaborate process that starts with a creative idea. Whether from an inspiration or imagination, the brand’s excellently trained experts and artisans collaborate to bring these intangible concepts to life, with the use of strong manual work ethics mixed with the latest jewelry-making technology.

Starting from sketches to renderings, from 3D prints to original casts, then from hand finishing to quality check by department heads and Paul himself, the brand means serious business when it comes to quality control. Hence, every final product is given more appreciation and value, as only the perfect ones are able to pass the label’s meticulous process.

Aside from the obvious gorgeous gemstones and contemporary shapes and styles, Paul Morelli jewelries are also marked with functionality. In an interview with The Inquirer, Paul explained how he wanted his designs to offer both visual appeal and functionality. For instance, “The Appliqué mirror slider pendant allows women to check their lipstick,” he explained. He added that there’s an eyeglass pendant that helps the wearer to read even with glasses. Another interesting detail is the brand’s Meditation Bells which are made to offer peace to a woman’s busy life, among many others.

Forged connections and access to fame

One of Paul Morelli’s first pivotal connections was with a Bergdorf Goodman buyer, Neiman Marcus’ sister store, who contacted the brand about selling the jewelries. This came at a time when Paul was only starting by selling his collection at an arts and crafts festival. From there, Paul Morelli prospered to over 40 retailers, majority of which are the United States, but can also be found worldwide.

A member of the Council of Fashion Designs of America, Paul may be the only American jewelry designer to build his brand according to the tradition of European masters. Perhaps this is the defining feature of Paul Morelli jewelries—a good reason why the brand has been sought after and worn by stylists and personalities. Such names included music artist Rihanna, world-class sopranos Ying Fang and Amanda Majeski, and Broadway’s Laura Osnes.

Exquisitely designed with keen attention and meaningful functionalities, The Fine Jewelry House of Paul Morelli values the wearer as much as it ensures that every single piece produced is born out of vibrant ideas transformed into reality using the finest expertise and materials. While there are indeed jewelries in the market created to satisfy the thirst for always something new, there are brands like Paul Morelli that celebrates the tradition and continuous development of jewelry making, providing everyone with an experience of authenticity and creative artistry, because, “with each inspiration, the journey continues.”
