Gucci just served us some extra dose of cuteness in the days leading to the Chinese New Year. The Italian fashion house released a set of photos where adorable piggies—what else?—steal the show, and we can’t help but fawn.

The campaign is keeping in theme with the Year of the Pig that is to come by February 5. It can be remembered that the last year also saw the brand release a Chinese New Year-inspired collection that featured cute doggos for the Year of the Dog, including no other but Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s loves, his Boston Terriers Bosco and Orso. It seems though that Gucci’s fondness for animals is not reserved for CNYs alone as we also had a Harry Styles-led ad in 2018 that had the British heartthrob pose along with farm animals such as pigs, chickens and lambs. What’s different this time around is that the humans are just accessories to the pigs, and regardless of how that sounds on paper, Frank Lebon shots prove that that is not a bad thing.

Gucci and Lebon take the pigs and their humans in the American center of fashion, New York City, where the photographer explores the relationship that exists between animals and humans, at least according to the brand’s press release. The pigs rode taxis, posed on the bed with the brand’s accessories, and even flaunted some of its fragrances, and yes, it is as luxurious as it can get. With humans clothed in Gucci, the pigs went to the park, had a feast of a meal, and enjoyed socializing with tea parties—it’s as if they’re having the best time of their lives! The accessories have pigs on them too, as one would anticipate, but it’s not just any pig. Gucci borrowed Disney’s Three Little Pigs to be featured on garments and leather goods. Our favorite brands seem to have a renewed love for Disney, but Gucci’s take is still fresh regardless.

The Chinese New Year collection for the Year of the Pig is made up of 35 pieces, which include tees and knitwear for both men and women, bags and luggages, accessories, and footwear. Some of the Italian maison’s greatest hits are also here, except they come with a Three Little Pigs motif. Ace sneakers fans will be delighted to find that the limited collection has them, and so will those who love to grab some Gucci backpacks. There’s some for everyone, as there are scarves, watches and even brooches, and we have to say, the flying pig is just aww-inducing. One of the best parts of the news is that there is no need for a long wait: The Year of the Pig collection has already been dropped for purchase. You can simply head over to Gucci’s online store or the nearest boutique, and update your wardrobe with Chinese New Year-appropriate luxury.
