Travelling in fashion has gained incredible popularity over the years through the rise of social media that encourages OOTDs, IG-worthy fashion, and always looking on fleek. But even for men who have zero interest in such, a reliable and high-functioning timepiece is an important part of their get up, especially when tracking time pre, post and in between flights. A digital option can be a quick solution, yet there’s always something about a traditional watch that exudes a quiet elegance of a gentleman. Baume & Mercier channels that exact vibe through its fashionable Clifton GMT Power Reserve watch.

Even though it was released just recently, the inspiration behind the Baume & Mercier Clifton GMT Power Reserve stems far back from the designs of timepiece collections n the 1950s. Aesthetically speaking, the Baume & Mercier Clifton GMT Power Reserve has the perfect balance of artistry and craftsmanship that is reflected in the neat and refined look of its dial and casing. Just the right amount of accents were added to prevent a cluttered look, especially as there are a lot of features provided by the timepiece. The royal blue dial is the perfect base to tie in the polished look of the details, rhodium-plated teardrop hour chapter marker and Arabic numerals. Props should also be given to the easily readable GMT display albeit having a small size just like the power reserve indicator.
But beyond the looks, this watch boasts of a Soprod 9035 model automation, which is a self-winding style, just perfect one to go with the overall vintage theme of the timepiece.
Some would find that the mix of the standard clock, the GMT indicator and the power reserve indicator can be too overwhelming, especially for a watch that’s meant for travelling. In such cases, it will be better to choose another timepiece from the brand, to get the same vibe but have a much simpler look at a cheaper price (e.g. Clifton Dual Time 10111).
