Wendy Nichol is her name and minimalism is her game! Approaching over a decade in the industry, the New York-based designer went back to her roots and conjured up a sophisticated sense of simplicity for Fall 2019. And though you might think this would be boring, it was anything but! With such sublime softness and an almost rigorous refinement, she turned practically basic pieces into highly desirable luxury fashions. A stark white suit, for instance, both for men and women, had such a neutral complexity to it and a rather fine finish that it looked entirely expensive despite its simplicity. A white shirtdress was as crisp as ever with its strong structure yet soft fit. And ultimately, a stunning boat-necked slip in a translucent and slightly shimmering material brought on a youthful elegance even if you could already see everything underneath! Nichol’s latest offering was so enigmatic, it had such class and precision none of her contemporaries could ever really match!
