There’s just something about the 1980s that designers today will find endlessly inspiring. Maybe it’s the unapologetic glamour and the revolutionary fashions that defined the decade? Or that it was a time when women finally realized their potential power in the world? For Veronica Beard, it was a mixture of both. Their spring 2019 collection was a celebration of that defining era, complete with graphic prints and sexy silhouettes. A magnetic black-and-white plaid monochromatic look with a glittery belt looked just as powerful today as it might have back then. The scene-stealing florals were also revelations, especially the printed tailored suit. Gingham also took center stage, appearing in Cher Horowitz-like shorts-suits and boat-neckline tops. And who could forget that leopard-printed t-shirt that was all kinds of fabulous? The Veronica Beards were in their element this season, and surely many women of different ages and eras are bound to flock to their stores come spring.
