Velvet Haze by Byredo Review
Description
Velvet Haze by Byredo immediately had our attention with the mention of its top notes, especially coconut and hibiscus. To us, these mainly contribute to the refreshing yet refined vibe it emits. It’s a shame that in the middle of wearing it, the notes feel vague rather than complementary of the accords we’ve been introduced to earlier. The base slightly makes up for this although not enough to fully redeem it. Velvet Haze is creamy and warm, but would probably be used best during chillier seasons.

Velvet Haze is just one of Byredo’s many fragrances, but this woodsy scent is one marketed for both men and women. It was released in 2017 and created by perfumer Jerome Epinette. The notes are a mix of woods and oriental accords. Some of these are coconut, hibiscus, bergamot, osmanthus, patchouli, tuberose, musk, cacao pod, ambrette and cashmeran.
