Topshop-deluxe! Though it may seem harsh, we can’t help but feel that this is essentially what Vanessa Bruno‘s latest line is. We give her credit for her undeniably well-crafted designs and sleek silhouettes, but that’s about it. Inspired by Georgia O’Keefe‘s own rustic wardrobe during her heyday, nothing about this Fall 2019 collection even comes close to the excitement elicited by the legendary artists’ works. Bruno could have said she was inspired by various Cowboy movies and we would have believed her. So not only does this line look so pedestrian (almost offensively to a degree), it also has no connection whatsoever to the purported narrative. We doubt O’Keefe’s own outfits were this bland, even if they were simple. We have to admit, however, that the paisley pieces were pretty—they’d be perfect for music festival goers. But other than that, everything about this collection screams abysmal.
