Ulla Johnson is known for her feminine and bohemian style. And while it’s easy to brush this off as easy and common, the way she achieves the styles is through craft. For spring 2019, her expert skills in this craft was magnified and was undeniable. Still exemplifying that signature bohemian spirit, she put forth an elegant array of dresses and separates, each expertly cut and sewn to perfection. Each skirt was precisely pleated, each frill was carefully attached, and the patchwork pieces were so well done they looked like they were originally woven together. A few puff sleeved slightly ventured into Victorian territory, but these women were undeniably free and less rigid. Despite the carefree spirit, however, there was also an unmistakable refinement that Johnson herself has perfected. It’ll be interesting to see which ladies will don these clothes, but whoever they might be, expect that they’ll look impeccable.
