India is a country that endlessly inspired designers, even the team that oversees TSE’s magnificent collections. But while others would reference the vibrant colors and festive Bollywood flavor of the South Asian country, the design team of TSE focused more on authentic Indian construction, especially from the famous Kutch district. Here, garments are soft yet rigid at the same time, which was highly evident with the braided features in most of the enigmatic shifts that make up the brand’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection. A macrame top is as arguably the most sensual pieces in this line, but it’s also fearless with its semi-sheer finish. The tailoring, on the extremely soft, as silky as the prominent silks that come from the referenced country. In terms of color, the neutral hues and pops of pale rose and shocking pink are more in line with the overall atmosphere of India, and not necessarily the vivid colors of their show-stopping culture. Craft was the main star of this collection, and while these aren’t as glamorous as other clothes inspired by India, there are still pieces that women would love to have in their wardrobes.
