Theory is an acclaimed New York label that’s known for providing women the best and highest of quality workwear for their contemporary lives. But for spring 2019, creative director Francesco Fucci gave a new spin to the Theory customer, transporting her from the confines of her industrial office and into the summer hotspots of the Mediterranean. Fucci is native of Naples, Italy and it’s the colors of that sun-kissed city that he used to paint this spring offering. Sandy shades of ecru and rosy tones of crimson were on billowy day dresses and easy separates. The silhouettes here were also different, trading it those bodycon suits and dresses to flowing, freeform summer-ready shapes. There was a sense of casual comfort that was in the collection, and for once in her hustling and bustling life, the Theory woman is in a well-deserved, luxurious holiday.
