Alice Temperley has always been a feminine designer, but for Pre-Fall 2019, she decided to put a bit of a tougher edge to her designs. Firstly, her color palette this season isn’t the usual array of pretty pastels, but an interesting mix of black, orange, hot pink, lapis, slate blue, and pear green. The hues are stark and strong, which went well with the various silhouettes. Apart from her signature freeform and tight-waisted shapes, there were a lot more streamlined looks here than usual, but they were far from minimalist. Even the straightest of shifts were embellished to the nines or given eye-catching prints to make them less basic and more in-your-face. A few of the outerwear, on the other hand, were kimono-inspired, evident with their exotic ease and rustic hues. It looks like the Temperley London woman is more mature now and has developed a new style that’s stronger, more confident, and definitely powerful!
