When you’re all about pretty clothes, it’s sort of hard to grow from there. But Tanya Taylor proved otherwise with her slightly edgier Fall 2019 collection. It was as empowered as she can get, with tinges of grunge and punk but still a whole lot of prettiness. Take a blue, black, and yellow plaid dress, for instance, which is off-the-shoulder, bore a rather roundish shape and boasts an empire waistline. There’s an almost refined rebellious spirit about it that’s endlessly compelling but, at the same time, streetwise in a sophisticated way. The same goes a brick-red suede suit. Tailored to perfection, it radiates power without sacrificing its underlying femininity. And that sparkling pantsuit? A night out on the town would deserve that kind of glamour! Overall, this was a modest offering for modern women—just what the doctor ordered!
