In a time when voluminous shapes and pouf silhouettes are reigning supreme, Tadashi Shoji goes against the tide and releases an array of sleek evening ensembles for Pre-Fall 2019. But these aren’t in the vein of the sexy cut-out variety that the likes of Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad neither. In his own unique way, Shoji exemplifies streamline with sophistication in this refined offering inspired by botanical bliss. Be it in print, gradient graphic, applique, or embroidery, each and every piece had a touch of flora to further showcase his romantic touch. Yet, at the same time, each frock embraced the body in a flattering and wholesome way—tight enough to be alluring but not so bodycon that they look tacky and vulgar. These dresses have the right mix of sensuality and grace that most, if not all Hollywood starlets will benefit from wearing!
