Summer Is Out, and Fall is In. You Know What That Means… Bring Out the Knits!

September 2022 Sales (LATEST)

Not everyone is sad to see summer go. For some of us, the heat can get draining after some time, and not long after we’re left imagining cooler temperatures while staying cozy in knitted pieces. Thankfully, our much awaited season has finally come; we can happily take the knits, typically associated with this season, out of our cabinets and wear them while sipping a hot drink. If you’re just as shameless as us in loving sweater weather, and want this season to be your most stylish as of yet, here are some of our favorite picks of knitted sweaters to elevate your fall wardrobe.

1. The Elder Statesman Flowers of Life cashmere sweater

We always love references to the 1980s, but this year has been big on bringing to the catwalk colors and styles that have made the decade so memorable. The Elder Stateman is not one to skip the trend, although it remains loyal to Los Angeles, its birthplace and constant source of inspiration. This has resulted in a beautifully spun cashmere sweater dubbed Flowers of Life, which is a sartorial depiction of the city based on LA movies of the decade. The bright pink, white and yellow cashmere sweater has a slightly loose fit and can be slipped on, requiring you minimal effort to leave you chic and keep you up with the trends.

2. Burberry Hooded patchwork wool-blend sweater

For this fall sweater, Burberry sheds the check and opts for a colorful patchwork pattern. It works wonderfully, and wears just as great too—the sweater is made of luxurious wool-blend, making it against your wishes to take this off should you need to have an outfit change or even a simple trip to the dry cleaners. The hoodie and the shoulders add to the outerwear being a lovely piece to take on the streets; do the French tuck for maximum impact.

3. Chloé Cutout wool turtleneck sweater

This runway-spotted sweater from Chloé is inspired by French cinema, particularly actress Stéphane Audran who left us earlier this year. Audran was fond of Chloé and has been often seen wearing its vintage designs. Besides lending a good dose of French chic, this wool sweater knitted in Italy has a turtleneck and cutouts on the shoulder; it is flattering with the slim fit torso and slightly roomier sleeves.

4. Mary Katrantzou Marcel intarsia stretch-knit sweater

Mary Katrantzou‘s many references in this stretch-knit sweater may require some knowledge in art movements, but it does not take an expert to fully appreciate the aesthetic. The sweater is knitted in Italy and is multi-colored with hints of metallic. Its slim fit would look cool and chic when partnered with a midi skirt and tucked in.

5. T by Alexander Wang Cropped wool-blend turtleneck sweater

Alexander Wang does plenty in this navy turtleneck sweater even without having to opt for prints or pops of color. This creation invites scrutiny to fully appreciate the construction: it is purposely made with a boxy fit for a bolder presence, ribbed trims to frame your figure, black and blue threads that give an impression of both edge and comfort, and tucked sleeves, all for that extra pinch of cool. Wear this one out with sneakers.

6. GANNI Julliard mohair and wool-blend sweater

GANNI’s sweater is sweet, chic and just downright pretty. It is also a taste of the Copenhagen style that’s slowly gaining recognition around the globe. The construction of the sweater is far from busy, but it has just the right finishes that give off a casual yet elegant vibe. Made by artisans’ hands, the sweater has cropped balloon sleeves that would look lovely when matched with flowy skirts.

7. Joseph Draped wool and cashmere-blend sweater

Joseph offers a chance to have some fun with asymmetry this season if you still haven’t for the year, and what the brand has on hand is an elegant spin on the trend, too. Made out of cashmere-blend as well as merino wool, this incredibly cozy sweater has a draped neckline you can use for added warmth on the area. The burnt orange is as autumnal as you can get, and would look snazzy with dark pants.

Fall can just be as exciting a season as summer when dressing up, and knits offer as much variety as ever while still giving much needed warmth and softness. It’s never too late to update your collection, even if the sweater weather has already commenced. Have fun wearing them while going about your daily routine, or even just when chilling with a good book to read.
